Scotland is a country with a proud history and many fine traditions. Take the haggis, for example, Scotland's national, and very versatile, dish – you can chase it, you can throw it, you can address it, you can eat it and if it doesn't agree with you, then you can throw it up again!
Then there's the kilt and the different tartans, many with a colourful history that's intertwined with clan folklore and proud family traditions. When you come to Scotland, we are keen that you too should feel that very special experience of wearing the kilt and, yes gentlemen, letting it swing for your country!
Another tradition formerly associated with battles, 'Beating the Retreat', is now a ceremonial display that reaches the souls of all who witness this magnificent and powerful playing of the bagpipes and drums.
